Meet YOUR Candidate

Kathi Flanders was born on July 4th, 1960 in Springfield, Ohio with a plastic spoon in her mouth.  Her family did not have money and like many others, there were daily struggles. She attended many public schools before landing in West Carrollton where she attended eighth grade through high school.
After high school Kathi worked at many jobs including retail, grocery, bartending, waitressing and even sang in a band for a few years. Although no one in her family had ever attended college, she knew she could do even more.
At the age of 27 Kathi enrolled at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio where she graduated in 1990 with an Associate Degree in Nursing. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and then her Masters Degree in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati which allowed her to obtain her National Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 1998. She has worked in Pain Management for the past 10 years where she cares for a diverse group of patients alongside an inspiring class of professionals.
She moved to Centerville, Ohio in 1994 where she currently resides with her husband of 25 years, Tom, who retired from the Dayton Police Department as a Detective Sergeant after 41 years serving his community.  Kathi has one son, three stepsons and 10 grandchildren.
Kathi is proof that through perseverance, determination and hard work, one can rise above the obstacles of life’s journey to create your own destiny. She is ready to bring this same tenacity to work for her fellow Americans and conquer some of the most important issues we face today.
